⚡ Tax

The Tax tab shows your current position and the levers that change it: salary sacrifice, the pension annual allowance, ISA-versus-pension comparisons, and your National Insurance record.

What the walkthrough covers

The Tax tab helps you understand and reduce the tax you pay. Most of it is calculated automatically from your income and pensions, but there are levers you can pull. Salary sacrifice lets you redirect part of your salary into your pension before tax — set the amount here, and there's a button to fill it to your total pension contributions, capped at your allowance. The pension annual allowance section shows how much you can pay in each year. You can also compare paying into an ISA versus a pension, and check your National Insurance record — the app can even derive your State Pension directly from your qualifying years, and model deferring it for a permanent uplift of five point eight percent for each year you wait. If you pay Scottish income tax, switch the region here and the Scottish bands are used throughout. The app freezes tax thresholds until 2028 and then increases them with inflation, so the projections reflect the real effect of fiscal drag.

Tip: Salary sacrifice defaults to zero — use the fill button to set it to your contributions.
