App guide · chapter 8 of 18

🕰️ Longevity

Longevity estimates life expectancy from health and lifestyle inputs, then sets the plan's length and its three retirement spending phases: Freedom, Contentment, and Later Life.

What the walkthrough covers

The Longevity tab does two things. First, it estimates your life expectancy — how long your plan needs to last — from health and lifestyle details you enter, such as whether you smoke, how much you exercise, and your family history. Be honest here, because it sets the length of your whole plan. Second, it splits your retirement into three spending phases. Freedom is your active early retirement, where you add extra spending on top of your base for travel and hobbies. Contentment is a settled middle phase at your base spending. And Later Life adds the cost of care — you simply choose the type of care, whether at home, residential, or nursing, and the app fills in a realistic cost. Each phase clearly shows how it's built from your base retirement figure.

Tip: Choose your care type — the app fills in the cost, you don't type it in.
